podcast

For my podcast i was thinking about doing it on the history of greek mythology. My webzine is mainly about how in our language and culture today greek myhtology is still in it. I would want to talk about the history a bit more, mainly focusing on the religion and rituals and scuh. Those two accpects of the history are very interesting. It gives a lot of information on all the different types of gods, what the people would do for these gods and things of that nature. In my opinion it will help you understand alot better.

Let me know if i should change or what i should add or what would be interesting to you.

conference and peer review

After my conference i was confident in where i was taking my web-text. Ms. Cox gave me really good pointers on what it is that i should do and add to my web text. After Marcy gave me my review she let me know almost the same things Ms. Cox did. Also it made me excited to know how interested people are in my topic

My Audience

My audience will be two different groups of people. Those who already like greek mythology and thoes that dont know about but find it interesting. With my topic being about something that has been around for years i know that i will be able to keep greek mythology fans interested and pick up some new ones.

  1. I dont know exactly how many but im pretty sure its more than 100.
  2. I know that some of my audience may include foreign exchange students and not all of them understand English.
  3. I dont believe my audience knows much about the aspect of greek mythology im going to cover.
  4. I believe their exceptations are to be well informed but entertained at the same time.
  5. My audience has a very positive attitude towards my topic.
  6. I would like for my audience to just be informed.

My purpose is to inform my audience about greek mythology and how we use it today and also how relevent it is in everydaythings in our lives.

I think my audience will best respond to me being fun with my topic because its not a serious one. But at the same time inform them.

Greek Mythology

Greek Mythology
  1. http://www.theoi.com/ - this website would be very good for using as a source. It is very detailed and has alot of links to different things. The best thing would be that they have a link for its on library to look at the book were they get there quotes from and a like to their encyclopedia.
  2. http://www.the-patheon.com/ - this is a pretty good web site. it is very detailed. it has charts and links to related persons. it has alink to let you know where they got there information from. there are also links to other sites that can give you even more information.
right now im not all the way sure on what aspect to talk about so please feel free to give me an idea on where i should go with it.

Blog Assignment {brittney jones}

The three topics i would be interested to write about are: greek mythology, the different stereotypes in america, and also body image.

Greek Mythology is something that i have been interested in since i was very young. More than likely every since Hercules. The thing that put my curiosity into overdrive was founding out that the greek version and Disney's version were to completely different things. Over the years i have only become more interested in the many stories they have.

Stereotypes in America are here to stay. Even though they're not always good they're interesting to know. There are so many different types out there. It seems as though America has one for everyone. I would really enjoy writing on this topic to get a better understanding on how they came about and why they carry so much influence on people.

Body image can be kinda of difficult and touchy. So many different things come up when it comes up in any conversation. I would like to write about this simply because i find it interesting. I feel connected to this because i to like any other female cares a lot about my image.

Out of these three topics the one i already have a pretty good amount of knowledge on is greek mythology. Greek mythology consist of the Titans, Olympian Gods, other Gods and Goddess, myths, creatures, different figures and places. Zeus was the youngest son of the Titans and became king of the Gods. Some of the Goddess were Athena and Aphrodite. Of course Hercules was a greek hero. Some of the creatures were Medusa, the cyclops, giants, and Hades three headed dog Cerberus. There are a few myths such as ones about Zeus's many lovers, the way Athena was born and also the creation of the world.

This is pretty much all I know....... feel free to comment!
